Irony Can Be Pretty Ironic Sometimes

Mere moments ago, I got a telemarketing call from a gentleman with a strong (but pleasant) Southern accent, who said he was calling on behalf of BMG Columbia House and wanted to sign me up for some sort of DVD club.

I declined, but it's nice to feel wanted.

Too funny.

I used to work for a big name game publisher known for sports titles, and a few months after I had been laid off, they were trying to hire me back because they had succeeded in making their 'quarterly cuts,' and needed warm bodies again.

Of course, I had to decline. Granted I already had a new job at that point but, even if I had still been searching for a job, I still would have had to turn them down on principle.

About six months ago I got a call from a job recruiter working for the same company who immediately launched into the benefits of working for said corporation. About midway through his pitch, I had to interrupt and explain I had already been there, done that and gotten the t-shirt.

Life is funny sometimes. Keep your chin up.
