This was classic McCain behavior—one of the reasons he's been such a crappy Republican in the modern Bush era is because he can't really stand the rabble that makes up the base. I saw one video where McCain was visibly taken aback by some idiot yelling "kill him!"
Of course, every time I see a McCain or Palin speech, I mentally raise my guess on the odds that Biden will be president in four years.
