VanderMeer on Political Fiction

Jeff VanderMeer has a new column at the Huffington Post -- or, rather, he did have a new column, more than a week ago, which I've finally looked at today -- about political fiction.

If it's successful enough, in the usual Darwinian HuffPo way, it will turn into an ongoing column, with regular installments. So, if you like it, read it a couple of times, comment and Digg it, and mail it to all your friends.

VanderMeer mentions the Steve Erickson-edited magazine Black Clock, which gives me an opportunity to mention one of my favorite bits of political fiction (even though it's supposedly a piece of reportage), Erickson's own Leap Year, the true story of one man and Sally Hemings during the 1988 elections. If you only read one book about an election in your life, it should be Leap Year.
