BSFA 2009 Awards

The British Science Fiction Association recently announced the winners of their annual awards during the British national SF convention, Odyssey 2010 (also known as Eastercon).

And those winners are...

• Best Novel: The City and the City by China Miéville (Macmillan)
• Best Short Fiction: "The Beloved Time of Their Lives" by Ian Watson & Roberto Quaglia (The Beloved of My Beloved)
• Best Non-Fiction: Mutant Popcorn by Nick Lowe (Interzone column)
• Best Artwork: Stephan Martiniere for the cover of Desolation Road by Ian McDonald

Congratulations to the winners, though the continued outpouring of love for the deeply problematic, and entirely non-SFnal, City and the City deeply baffles me.
