John Joseph Adams, the once and forever Slush God, has posted the Table of Contents of the upcoming pirate-themed issue of Shimmer that he edited. (Insert pirate pun here, matey.)

Simon & Schuster will publish a middle-grade science fiction novel called George's Secret Key to the Universe this fall, reports the Associated Press. Why should anyone care? Because it's written by Stephen Hawking, that's why.

Gawker Media is rumored to be close to announcing a new science-fiction blog. Apparently, they're looking for someone who can provide "salacious gossip and snarky social commentary," and are hiring some old hack from Wired. Ahem! {Points to self, raises eyebrow}

According to satire site The Daily Mash (and may I underline satire there a couple of times for the benefit of any speed-readers?), J.K. Rowling's famous boy hero's adventures will continue beyond the Deathly Hallows, though it appears he's doomed to turn into Declan MacManus...
